The Brazilian Polymer Conference (CBPol) – is organized biannually since 1991 by the Brazilian Polymer Association (ABPol). The CBPol provides opportunities for the discussion of scientific, technological and marketing issues, with the presence researchers, students and organizations from different countries.
The 17th CBPol will be held from October 29 to November 2, 2023, in the CITY OF JOINVILLE, SANTA CATARINA at the EXPOVILLE Convention and Exhibition Center.
Participants, in addition to presenting their research and development projects in oral or poster form, will be able to follow the most innovative developments in the polymer area, and will also be able to participate in technical exhibitions and lectures from polymer companies and equipment manufacturers, which will enrich discussions by recycling ideas and renewing concepts.
We encourage the participation of all those who think that polymers play role in modern society.
In this edition, CBPol will be even more innovative, in addition to the plenary sessions, keynotes and oral presentations and posters, on Tuesday, October 31st we will have the Round Table on Circularity with representatives from industry, government and academia. Also on this day, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Workshop will take place with a lecture by Dr. Diego Piazza from UCSGraphene, with the theme Using your Research as a Business. After the lecture, a Workshop will be held for congress participants registered for the Workshop.
At the entrance to the Expoville complex, there is GutBrau Cervejaria (indicated with 1 in the image). Happy hour will take place at this location on October 30th. From October 31st, the restaurant opens for lunch. Also a souvenir shop.
The Expoville Shopping Center (location 2) offers options for purchasing souvenirs from the city and region, a snack bar and a buffet restaurant open to the public costing R$39.90.
The Expoville Convention and Exhibition Center, (location 3), has two floors. On the first floor you will find the stands of the Congress sponsors and exhibitors, the poster session and the exclusive restaurant for congress participants. The restaurant will offer lunch with an all-you-can-eat buffet and drinks (soda and water), costing R$55.00. In the following image you can see the layout of the spaces on this floor.

A Revista Macromolecular Symposia publicará um número especial da sua revista com trabalhos selecionados do 17o CBPol. Os autores poderão submeter seus trabalhos conforme regras de submissão da revista que se encontra no site https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/15213900. O prazo para submissão será definido e divulgados futuramente.
Como nas edições anteriores do Congresso Brasileiro de Polímeros – CBPol, um dos membros da Diretoria da Associação Brasileira de Polímeros (ABPol) irá submeter um pedido de auxílio a FAPESP para custear as despesas dos pesquisadores do Estado de São Paulo que apresentarem trabalhos no 17° CBPol.
O valor do auxílio será determinado pela FAPESP e será distribuído na forma de reembolso depois do congresso. Serão elegíveis todos os pesquisadores paulistas que apresentarem trabalhos, seja na forma oral ou poster, e que não tenham verba para esse fim em projeto apoiado pela FAPESP.
Sendo assim, não deixe para a última hora, inscreva-se e submeta seu trabalho até o dia 9 de Maio.

Os autores de trabalhos apresentados no 17º CBPol estão convidados a submeter versões completas dos seus artigos à revista “Polímeros: Ciência e Tecnologia”, indicando que se trata de artigo apresentado no 17º CBPol e escrito de acordo com as normas da revista.
Todos os artigos serão analisados e avaliados seguindo as normas usuais da revista e, caso aceitos, terão desconto de 50% no pagamento do article-charge.

The City of Joinville is located in the ‘Caminho dos Príncipes’ (Way of Princes) Touristic Region, north of Santa Catarina, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Brazilian coast, between Babitonga Bay and the Serra do Mar mountains. It has more than 605,000 inhabitants, being considered the 37th most populous city in the country (IBGE 2021) and the 3rd largest economy in southern Brazil, with an estimated consumption potential of 22.09 billion in 2021, according to the Potential Index of Consumption (CPI).
The city has a great performance in several socioeconomic indicators. One of the highest per capita incomes in Brazil, high HDI, high employability rates, among others. Recently, the city began to undergo a complete transformation in its economic matrix, initially based on the metalworking and plastics industry, areas of prominence and representation with large, medium and small companies, the city has become a reference in several indicators aimed at the ecosystem of innovation.
The city occupies the 10th position in the ranking of cities with the highest rate of companies per inhabitant in Brazil, according to the Tech Report 2020 by Acate (Associação Catarinense de Tecnologia). It is in 9th place among Brazilian cities with the best ecosystems for the emergence and growth of technology-based companies, according to the Startup Ecosystem Index Report 2021. The survey also points to Joinville in 7th place in the national ranking, among the cities with the highest average revenue of companies in the
technology sector.
According to the Connected Smart Cities 2021 ranking, Joinville is at the top of the list regarding development potential. With about 30 world-class multinationals, Joinville is also a true Startup-barn, being recognized as a cluster of Fintechs and ERP Software companies.
In the area of health, Joinville has stood out in several specialties such as ophthalmology, transplants, cleft lip and palate and neurology, the latter an international reference in the area of Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA).
The characteristics above, combined with logistical facilities and proximity to major centers, have made Joinville stand out in attracting investments through large corporations and major events of the most diverse modalities.
To meet this demand, Joinville has a diversified service network, including accommodation, gastronomy, commerce, spaces for events, among others. Allied to our infrastructure, the region has a range of attractions, ranging from the beaches and scenery of the ‘Serra Catarinense’, passing through the artistic and cultural diversity, which currently has the Joinville Dance Festival, the Festa das Flores, the Escola do Teatro Bolshoi in Brazil, at the Juarez Machado International Institute and at the Musicarium – Academia Filarmônica Brasileira, as our main references. Vocês, professores, estudantes de pós-doutorado, de doutorado, de mestrado e de graduação que desenvolvem tecnologias envolvendo materiais poliméricos já pensaram em levar suas pesquisas para o mercado? Transferir a tecnologia para uma indústria ou mesmo criar uma startup? Mas, não sabem como fazer?
O CBPol irá oferecer um workshop que mostrará os primeiros passos para levar sua tecnologia para o mercado. Neste workshop que ocorrerá no dia 31 de outubro, das 14h00 às 20h00, iniciará com uma palestra para todos os congressistas com o Dr. Diego Piazza da UCS Graphene, com o tema "Enxergando sua Pesquisa como Negócio".
Após a palestra, os inscritos na oficina poderão avaliar e formatar suas tecnologias para o mercado usando ferramentas como EVTE (estudo de viabilidade técnica e econômica), modelagem de negócios (CANVAS), validação e construção de Pitch. Os participantes serão mentorados por uma equipe de "startupeiros" liderados pelo Dr. Fabiano Ferreira do Escalab.
